WEATHER CONDITIONS

Season phenology: average

Weather conditions:

Storm winds occurred periodically during May. Long-lasting heavy rains were going in early July.

Season temperature: cold
Season humidity: rainy
Date of 50% snow-cover: 7.05
Date of ice-break on rivers:
Date of final loss of snow: 21.05

BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

low

Breeding conditions:

Stormy winds in May caused a delay of Surfbird reproduction, and led to decrease in numbers of certain species (Semipalmated Plover, Least Sandpiper, Baird's Sandpiper). Long-lasting strong rains in early July caused death of almost all of Surbirds' chicks, but Pacific Golden Plovers continued to alarm near broods.

Rodent dynamics:

Rodent species recorded:

LatinAbundance

Summary of fauna studies:

Biology of Surfbird. Mapping of wader distribution in mountanous landscape. Distribution and numbers of Wandering Tattler.
